Why do so many of our favorite memories revolve around the water? Whether it's family vacations at the beach, summer weekends at the lake, lazy afternoons on the boat, or low-key lounging by the pool, we love connecting near water. It binds us, revitalizes us, and recharges us.
But, like most things in life, water is a paradox - it can refresh your spirit or ruin your Sunday. Restore your balance or wreck your bank account. Reignite your passions or reclaim your property. Water has the potential to bring out the very best — or worst — in us all.
Fortunately, Booe has the solution for your water worries: 100% waterproof bags. Not water-resistant bags — airtight, fully-submersible, completely waterproof bags.

So why is waterproof better? Let's start by exploring the critical differences between water-resistant and waterproof. To understand the term "waterproof,” you must first understand the term "water-resistant" - also referred to as water-repellent or splash-proof.
What Are Water-Resistant Bags?
Water-resistant gear protects users from lighter amounts of moisture like water splashes, snowfall, and gentle rain. However, that's as far as "water-resistant" protection goes. The official dictionary definition:
"Resisting though not entirely preventing the penetration of water."
Some water-resistant products use a spray on treatment called Durable Water Repellent (DWR). DWR is a specialized topical coating on the outer fabric layer of garments typically used on rainwear, ski jackets/pants, tent canopies... etc. It's designed to prolong garments and extend water-resistant protection - forcing water droplets to bead up, run off, and try their day-ruining shenanigans somewhere else. Eventually though, this water-resistant layer will fade away requiring repeated treatment.
Other water-resistant products use fabric that performs in a similar way to DWR along with water-resistant zippers which will eventually allow water to penetrate over time or with increased water pressure. Many of these items use cut and sew construction that won't hold up underwater or in prolonged wet environments.
Water-resistant bags may have a lower price tag but often cost you more. By skimping on upfront protection, many disappointed buyers end up losing their phones, keys, or cameras to the elements. By pinching pennies, they end up ripping dollars. While there is a time and place for water-resistant gear, it's not your best option for water protection and peace of mind.
What Are Waterproof Bags?
Waterproof gear provides total protection from water that guards you against more extreme conditions like submersion, heavy snowfall, and pouring rain. The official dictionary definition:
"Impervious to water."
Waterproof bags are the smarter investment because of their increased level of protection, durability, longevity, and value. By combining TRU® Zip waterproof zippers, TPU-coated waterproof tarpaulin fabric, and watertight radio frequency (RF) welded seam construction, Booe waterproof bags stand up to the elements.

Our waterproof collection is IP67 rated providing complete protection against dust and submersion protection in water at 1 meter (or 3.3 feet) for up to 30 minutes. Learn more about the IP rating system below.
Understanding Ingress Protection (IP) Ratings
The Ingress Protection code consists of the letters "IP" followed by 2 numerical digits. The first digit refers to the protection against solid objects that's rated on a scale from 0 (no protection) to 6 (no ingress of dust). The second digit rates the enclosure’s protection against liquids that uses a scale from 0 (no protection) to 9 (high-pressure hot water from different angles).

IP ratings of IP65, IP66, IP67, IP68, and IP69 are considered waterproof given their immersion protection.
